Fostering Independence of Thought and Action
...is our mission. The staff at the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Center are specialists in their field. We are trained to help the individual overcome problems in thinking and action that interfere with the return of independence. We provide a range of supportive services to adult survivors of a brain injury and offer services that benefit children and adults with other neurological and developmental challenges.
The TBI Center is part of Northeastern New York Community Services Programs and is a United Way agency. We are approved providers for the New York State Department of Health TBI Waiver program, Developmental Disabilities Services Office, and Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR; formerly known as VESID). The TBI Center is also an AmeriCorps placement site.
Our center is located on the State University of New York (SUNY) Plattsburgh campus in the northeastern corner of New York State. We serve people within a 90 mile radius and work cooperatively with other agencies in the region to maximum access to services.
