Neuropsychological Evaluations

xxxxx
The Neuropsychology Clinic is affiliated with both the TBI Center and the Psychology Department at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Plattsburgh. The Clinic offers comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children and adults. Although the final goal is to provide a diagnosis using DSM-IV-R categories, the emphasis is placed on educating the client and his/her family if applicable as to the manifestations of the disorder and recommending interventions for addressing the problems.

xxxxxAreas of focus for the evaluation are as follows: Attention and Executive Function, Language, Sensorimotor, Visuospatial and Visuomotor, Learning and Memory Adaptive Functioning (if applicable) and Personality or Social-Emotional Functioning. The comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation involves six to eight hours of actual assessment time, four to five hours of record review, scoring and report writing and one to two hours of consultation. Payment methods include contractual agreements with VESID, local agencies and schools, self-pay and insurance (limited coverage). Please note that most insurance companies do not cover evaluations intended for educational purposes.
