Current Openings:

AmeriCorps for the Adirondacks is seeking 16 skilled and qualified individuals willing to fully commit to one year of service. AmeriCorps for the Adirondacks will accept applications from on July 26, 2011 through August 19, 2011. AmeriCorps for the Adirondacks staff will contact the most qualified applicants to schedule an initial interview.

The service term for all 16 positions listed below will begin on or about October 1, 2011 through October 3, 2012 (Please note that these dates are tentative and are subjected to change). Full-time members are required to serve 1700 hours and part-time members are required to serve 900 hours during their twelve month service term.

Generally, the schedule for members will consist of an 8 hour shift on weekdays, with some weekend and evening service hours as directed (shifts may vary for part-time members). Service hours will reflect the needs of the sponsoring organization and will vary from project to project.

In addition, to the activities listed below, all AmeriCorps for the Adirondacks members will participate in volunteer recruitment, training, and outreach efforts.

In order to be eligible to serve with AmeriCorps for the Adirondacks you must meet all of the required qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalency
• Be a U.S. citizenship or have authorization to work in the U.S.
• Be at least 17 years of age
• Be able to successfully pass a criminal background check
• Must be willing to commit fully to one year service term

Preferred Qualifications:

• College degree
• Be able to work independently and as a team
• Have a valid driver's licenses and your own transportation (desired)
• Have basic computer skills, including Internet navigation, and social media
• Be willing and ability to keep information confidential
